Watch and learn one way how to use comics in your ESL classroom

For this activity:

  • Take a blank piece of paper and divide it into sections as a comic strip would be.
  • Photocopy it and hand one out to each of your students.
  • Have your students create a comic strip. You can give them a topic. Here we used "housework" as it was the topic of the lesson. You could probably find a more exciting topic to use it with too.
  • Have them create their comic strip.

This activity for using comic strips requires more imagination than "Comics I", so you can give them some clues on the board, like laundry, dishes, trash, etc. And you could also add some questions like, "Who does the ____? Do you like doing ___? Do you have any disagreements about ____? What happens if you don't do ___?".
