Learn an easy way how to use comics in the ESL classroom
How to use comics:
- Find a comic strip and photocopy it.
- Whiteout the text in it.
- Copy it again.
- Make a copy for all of your students.
- Have them write their own story.
- You can have them write it in a specific tense or it could be a free activity.
It's important that you find age appropriate comics. This activity will work especially well with adolescents. As they will enjoy writing their "own" story as they see it. I would use it for the lower intermediate level and above as beginners may not yet have sufficient vocabulary to write much of a story. You can correct it as they work on it.
