A fun ESL game for teaching English to children

To play this ESL game:

  • You'll need to get a ping-pong ball
  • Along the base of the whiteboard draw boxes that contain things like + or - 1, 5, 10 or 20. Also put things in there like 10 jumping jacks, switch points, etc.
  • Form two teams and have two students formulate a Q&A or a sentence
  • Award the first to say it correctly a chance to blow the ball
  • The student places the ball at the end of the whiteboard and blows the ball
  • Wherever the ball lands determines what the student receives
  • If the ball stops rolling in the box that contains +20 then his team gets +20

"Hi Ian! I loved the course! It wasn't really difficult, but it was not easy - and I feel like I learned a lot. I definitely plan to continue using the resources. I have applied for and set up over 7 interviews already in China. If you add on various additional certs, like Young learners and what not I would take those. I plan to take a job in China and blog about it for the year to qualify for the 1000 hour cert. Thanks so much for an awesome learning experience" - Sandra Dee Bonadonna, TEFL 120
